Great news. Not so much regarding the award, but the EMAs are possibly the best way to promote a record in Europe these days. Media coverage before, during and after the event will be masisve. A (hopefully) great performance can potentially sell a high number of tickets for next summer's tour.

Whoever is in charge of marketing activities in Europe in the Bon Jovi camp is doing an excellent job at the moment.

Expecting (and hoping for) a medley.

a better job would be to allow fans to the festivities and stop thinking about them like plague ... fans make an artist strong ultimately... not just the media coverage

What exactly is your point, who do you think is treating fans like a plague? MTV? Bon Jovi?

I don't think it's MTV but more the management that think the media only are important ..the last promo for the circle in UK was just to contact the media the fans were expecting to get ability to buy tickets for the 3 shows done in london and nope nothign i mean NOTHING was given or sold or proposed to the fans they finally gave bulk of tickets for the show at the indigo at the O2 to the media ppl who came from all over europe and they have literally tons of tickets they threw away because the management didn't want to give the ticket or sold them to the FANS
for example imagine the nokia center show in NYC just for the media coverage and the fans waiting for tickets and no ticket given to ANY fans THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED for the promo of the circle in london ..lost highway had the O2 the HAND tour had heineken Bounce had shepperds bush ... the circle had nothing and the fans were looked at like plague ... many fans asked obie come on please share tickets you are doing 3 shows here why no fans ... ... he looked amused

but it is not the media that bought tickets for the 12 O2 but INDEED THE FANS
it was a total lack of respect for us ....
well the guys were forgiven they delivered great shows as promised but without us buying tickets what would have happened ?

So they did 3 promo-shows for the media (which are essentially needed to reach many casual fans in the first place) and then 12 (4 times as many) shows for fans and you are saying fans haven't been treated well?

Don't get me wrong, Bon Jovi haven't exactly been the most fan-friendly band in recent years (high ticket prices) especially towards diehard-fans (stagnant setlists particularly in the U.S.). But to say the band is treating fans like a plague is a bit ridiculous to me.

This is especially true for the EMAs as I am sure the band have less than zero input when it comes to deciding who is permitted to attend the actual awards-show.

I am very sorry but the 12 show at the O2 were not to please the fans but to get money from them ... especially that price .. promo show are essentially done to present a new cd to the market and by extension to the buyers THE FANS for a usually reasonnable price or even for free sometimes (like the secret show on the parking lot of the nms) I say YES that the fans have been treated like plague on the last cd as if they didnt want to hear about us didnt want to see us ... it was all about kissing butt to the media who actually couldnt care less about bon jovi ... they announced the cd and the O2 shows at those prices the less they could have done was to INVITE the fans to those show instead of looking down at them the way they did ...

I may sound harsh in my judgement from your point of view but they have been harsh to us FIRST ... I would never say anything if they didnt have act like jerks ... I was there with tons of fans and most of them went back home with no show while they did PROMO SHOWS because they didnt want the fans there .. the fan club said there would be an event for the fans too in London like they did in the NMS then close to the date it happened that well no ... nothing for london would happen sorry ... the tickets were for a few contest winners and for the press .. 3 shows for the press and the BBC with fans waiting to be at least accepted in as the place was not full and it never happened .. I am harsh ? really ? ..... nope ....

it was worse than not being fan friendly it was rude because just after that sh!tty promo jon and richie on tv played the innocent game about the price .. it was obvious to the guy on tv to say *hey what have you done to your fans guys ? *
