It's impossible to pass judgement on this. Jon always says that - marketing reasons anyone? :P - and I don't always agree.

Plus, I'm still pretty immersed in the boxset so I don't think I'm as excited about this as I would if I han't got the boxset a little over a month ago. I'm not thirsty for news yet.

Jon is giving us the same kind of introduction we've received for the last two albums ...
Let's hope it will be better than Bounce anyway ...

Let's hope it's the only thing it has in common with the last two albums...or we're getting a 3rd sequel.

Jon has changed his tune a bit. In the Billboard interview a month or so ago, he said the new album isn't going to 'sugar coat' anything anymore and it would be more 'introspective'. To me that dosen't equate to being 'optimistic'.

Here's his quote from Billboard:

Bon Jovi notes that changes in the climate of the country, and the state of the music business, influenced the songwriting on the new album.
The songs reflect "personal and introspective views on issues I may have had growing up that I certainly would have never discussed publicly before. I've always kept this 'chin up, glass is half-full' kind of optimism, and [now] I showed some chinks in the armor."

Don't you just love how people can judge an album that they haven't heard yet.

Now look here...this is Dry County..we judge here at Dry County...as often and with as little info as possible. If we didn't...we wouldn't be Dry County....we'd be Happy County. We aren't a visit to Disneyland.

I didn't intend to imply that we should turn into backstage and not be allowed to express our opinions, but when people start to criticise an album that isn't released yet it is rather cruel even for here.

But we always have....why stop tradition?

In all seriousness.... the idea that the remarks made in this article are accurate portrayals of the album to come is a bit upsetting because it's what most of us are afraid of. Some people here might be content just to hear it's a rocking album. I'm not. Even if it is indeed that....if the actual lyrical content is rubbish with alot of musical "borrowing" from "contemporary artists"..the album will be rubbish as far as I'm concerned. Look at Taking It Back, a common favorite on this board apparently. It's rocking alright..but it's also a steaming pile with god awful lyrics and stolen/repeated songs. It's nothing more than Tokyo Road meets Kickstart My Heart and Nighttrain. For that reason I skip it every single time on that particular disc. It's pretty much a "here's what they were thinking....praise be they re-thought."

I swear...Jon is sounding more and more like Gene Simmons every year. Ice and I both know all too well what that road entails....it's not pretty folks.

I'm pretty excited.... I liked the Bounce record for the most part. From what I just read, I have a lot to look forward to!

Hi Guys

I don't believe Jon. I think the new album songs will sound more like Last man standing than anything... Ok, for sure have a nice day has his hard rock edge but.... I don't know. I'd be happy with another kinda Bounce album 'cause at least, Bounce have not that digital sounds like on crush. Except a pair of songs.

But if I tell you the truth, I don't care. I like their music even if it was a jazz record...

They've always been commercial so...
