Yeah, everything I think. Some songs are particularly good with their lyrics, while others really affect me because of the music. A good mix.

The words are very important to me but if the music is crap then I don't care about the lyrics either. It's easier for me to listen to good music with crappy lyrics. That's actually the advantage of not being a native speaker, if you don't want to understand it you just ignore it.

I always liked Bon Jovi's ability to find the (technically) right words that fit a rhythm or the music but to be honest with you there weren't not too many lyrically great songs previous to KTF and These Days. Crush is a step back. It's more mature but still very superficial. That doesn't mean that the early lyrics were crap but I wouldn't consider Bon Jovi the most meaningful songwriters on this planet like some of you.
I think the magic of their songwriting is that it's easy to relate to because they are singing about you and me and the guy next door. And that's a good thing but most of it is just easy listening. Really I don't mean that in a negative way. In my opinion they are great songwriters but a lot of times there is a lack of depth.

For me the music is more important, and after if I liked the music I see the lyrics and if they are great, I need to say: ITīs a BJ song!!!!!!!!!!

Both, no doubt there. I think my admiration of the band exists to a certain level because of their tremendous variation, and still managing to keep a red thread through it all. To incorporate both meaningful and deep lyrics in heavy rock songs, easy-rocking lyrics in deep music and all the layers in between. I don't know any other band that has so much virtousity as BJ, and they are to be commended for such effort.

Despite all the changes in music throughout the years, there's no doubt you can hear it's Bon Jovi.

I love the band because of all the reasons above...

At first the music was the most important thing to me, but now, after being a fan for several years now, i've really started to listen to the words and the message behind the song. They're lyrics have really helped me so much this past year, especially the KTF lyrics, and for some reason, lately, the song Real Life has. Anyways, KTF, hee hee

Default Neither!

Neither! But I love Richie's guitar solos.

Actually, some songs I love for the meaningful lyrics they have, and some songs for the "music". Although most Bon Jovi songs have 'em both so I guess I can't really tell which ones I like better, LOL.

Sometimes I just listen to the music for the love of it, and then other times I will sit down and listen to the lyrics. Even just simple lines in the songs fell good just to sing with. Just lately I have been listening to Fear and am just getting right into that. As well as Always run to you, i love the drum sequence at the start of it.
