True enough, but I would hope to clarify that I use the term "obsession" facetiously. I simply love this band just as much now as I did 17 years ago.

why???
You can't convert a person to a BJ fan. That's not a real fan.

So just because my sister has finally come to her senses and started liking them at 18 years old means she can't be a real fan? You seem to think that people don't have their own minds and can make their own decisions...
and so do you. To be 'on a mission to convert every possible person I can into a Bon Jovi fan' seems to show that same attitude - thinking anybody can be talked into liking something they wouldn't otherwise.

Sharing your cds with other people because you want them to listen to what you think is great music is much different than being on 'a mission'

cool! i've got the vey same mission... i been involved in the on-line website and community thing since fall 1999 and "CONVERTING THE PAGANS" has always been my top priority in my agenda. i guess it's one of my five point of my mission statement. so far i converted more people than Jeasus did...

Apparently my attempt at humor was lost on some people. Allow me to re-clarify: "Mission" was being used solely in a light-hearted manner.

Before anybody else gets upset, please read the following disclaimer: I do not and never have tried to force, hypnotize or brainwash others into liking Bon Jovi. I apologize for using the words obsession and mission.

Is there anything else anyone would like me to apologize for?! If so, tough sh*t. For God's sake, my original post was only to announce that we have a new fan joining the fold. I didn't realize I would have to explain myself for every one of my word choices. But, then again, this is the Dry County message board. I should have known I was expecting a little too much.

Some people really did take this a bit too seriously. It was a play on words. Anyway Jovi-Obsession, I think most people understand that you aren't some kind of freak preaching about BJ every chance you get. But even if you did try to convert every possible person in your life, you are from Jersey so it is okay. :P Kidding..please..only kidding.

Yeah, that's something I don't get. People come here, post somethign and then when they don't like the replies they get, they go on to say something like that. Honestly, I wouldn't even bother to come here in the first place if I thought this was such a terrible board. If all they want is praise, they should reply to their post themselves.

Although I totally understand what you are saying, as we have encountered quite a few of these people around here, I think Obsesssion is getting a bit of a bad rap for nothing. She just came on here happy to talk about how she made someone a fan, and it was turned into a negative thing. Don't get me wrong, I also understand why people may respond in a negative way, as it is their right, but all in all it was meant as a light hearted post. And like it or not, this board has the reputation for being negative because people are allowed to be, which isn't a bad thing, but it is different than most of the other popular BJ boards.

Yes, I know, and I have nothing against Obsession's original post. It's the tag (not just used in this thread, but in many others as well) "this the DC board" that gets me. It has nothign to do with the board.

But I know, this post wasn't mean seriously, but still that tag was used

I know what you mean. But just like Backstage has its reputation, we have ours. It really is dumb though, because a few people don't represent the majority on either board.
