Default NBC's Resident Musician

I watched the Today show this morning just for this announcement. The only cool thing is the concert that takes place on the day before Thanksgiving at Rockefeller. I'd love to go but I'd rather not freeze my ass off. So depending on the situation I might go.

But let me get to the point of my posting: they said they're going to be showing up on NBC shows, I believe I heard them correctly when they said "shows". Um... so does this mean that Bon Jovi is now NBC's bitch? Because that's how I feel right now. I'm half-expecting Bon Jovi to show up in like every show that NBC owns now. So like you'll be watching Law & Order and a murder will take place at a Bon Jovi concert? Like am I misunderstanding this concept or is this not like the saddest thing in the history of our band? And isn't this like completely against the concept of "We Weren't Born to Follow"? I mean like being independent and doing things that you want to do.

Maybe the new single should be "We Weren't Born to Follow (unless the money's good)"

I wondered the same thing... but the boys r a bit older ,perhaps they just want to be in one place to promote ,easier on them and their families.

I honestly think it's really smart promotion, considering the current record industry. The way things work now, "selling-out" is a TRULY outdated concept. Not that it was ever that smart to begin with.

I think it's smart promotion and it's kind of cool to have an entire network and its affiliates broadcasting their music.

I agree with you and Becky - the recording industry just isn't what it was. Things change and at least Jon (and maybe the rest of the band) is willing to try something different for promoting records. God knows the record company won't try anything different

This shouldn't effect UK promotion should it?

seems like a great way to promo the record, at least here in the US where radio is so fragmented and doesn't hold anywhere near the audience that TV does. And to be honest with the exception of Oprah and Letterman(who may well be losing his show if this sex scandal thing gets much worse) all the tv shows BJ would appear on Leno, Conan, Jimmy Fallon, Ellen are all on NBC or affiliates of NBC anyway. Bravo, where ITAS is on is a channel owned by NBC and NBC owns a piece of Showtime as well if I'm not mistaken. So it makes sense and it does seem like it means less running helter skelter back and forth across the country for the band. they all get to stay put do their work and go home. Pretty good deal seems to me.
