put simply SWW, NJ, KTF and TD + Always/Someday Ill be Saturday Night (part of the same era, just on a greatest hits album so they're can still be incorporated) represent the essential BJ material, their greatest work.

Only It's My Life since can be considered either a big enough hit, or a that great a track to be considered "missed out".

Obviously it depends what the borderline is between Old and New. Personally I consider anything pre-1995 as old.

I prefer the Bon Jovi from 1986 - 1996, though that's not to say I completely dislike anything else by them (Even This Left Feels Right is tolerable for me ).

And as for those between ages 17 and 19 to prefer Crush/Bounce era, that's not strictly true. I may not have been an actuall fan in the 90's probably because I was a bit too young to properly enjoy the music the band put out then (and obviously i was a tad too young to enjoy the 80's Bon Jovi ) but I was aware of them and remember what they at least looked like.

I was "reminded" of them when It's My Life hit the air-waves 5 years ago after they'd disappeared for a while. So yes, It's My Life started it off for me and yes, Crush was my first Bon Jovi album, but I much prefer the "forgotten years".

There isn't one song that I don't like on These Days, it has always been my personal favorite. KTF is in second followed by:

NJ
SWW
Crush
BJ
7800
Bounce

TD is your last favorite? You'd better run for it before they all kill you.

To be honest, I'm a big fan of the 80s albums moreso than any of the other albums as a whole.

I think my favorite time is the Slippery/NJ era. It was just the band at their peak, full of awe at their new found stardom. Their enthusiasm was different than it is today because it was all so fresh and new. Plus, the music just rocked!
I totally agree. Even though I pretty much never listen to any of the 80s music anymore, I'll still have fond memories in connection with the era and it'll always be special to me.

My all time faves are These Days and New Jersey. But anyways, I prefer the "Adult" era according to Becky's categorization

Infantile: BJ and 7800
Adolescent: SWW and NJ
Adult: KTF, CR, and TD
Mid-Life Crisis: Crush, OWN, Bounce, TLFR

Excellent breakdown, Becky!
