Let's not make a habit of referring to their Adult years with that term. It's incorrect. On this board, it's the viewpoint of a minority. In the real world, it's the viewpoint of one country, again..minority.

I totally agree. Even though I pretty much never listen to any of the 80s music anymore, I'll still have fond memories in connection with the era and it'll always be special to me.
Same here. Once in a great while I'll put Slippery on. But mostly I feed my appetite from that era by watching/listening to live shows from the Jersey Syndicate tour.

For me, my favorite era puts the first three together and ends with Destination Anywhere. It was thoughout those periods they maintained their work ethic and upward artistic climb that attracted me in the first place.

There is certainly material that has come out of the Mid-life Crisis years that I really do like, but it doesn't change the fact that whatever was there before 2000 is now missing.

Yesterday, I watched an interview with Jon and Richie (Dutch interview, which I had recorded a few years ago) and they said that they had survived the trends. That's true, but it doesn't mean that BJ hasn't changed over the past 25 years. Their sound has become more poppy and it's obvious that the guys are in their midlife crisis :P They should've stopped after These Days. Always stop when you've reached the top.

I'll go with old because my faves are probably NJ and KTF. I think SWW is great, but NJ and KTF had a much more mature feel to them.

As for why the old stuff is better then I think it's because artists tend to be the most creative in their first 10 years. After that I think they have pretty much said what they want to say in most of their lyrics and start trying to look for alternatives without ripping off their previous work. Another reason is that there might not be a market for the specific genre that they are/were in. I think Bon Jovi adapted well coming out of the hair metal era, but now they are experimenting with too many effects rather than sticking with the good old fashioned rock n roll. I am somewhat sympethetic because it must be hard to adapt through the ages, but Bon Jovi should remain a rock band in my opinion.

I feel the '90's era albums, BOG, KTF, Crossroads, These Days were far superior than anything they did previously... or since.

I prefer the old Bon Jovi, specially the 90’s Bon Jovi. These Days is my favorite album, and KTF is the second.
Bon Jovi these days is too much “pop” if you know what I mean. Of course, there are some songs that I really like it: “Undivided”, “It’s My Life”, “Bounce” are one of them. Well, I hope that the new album will be a great one, Have A Nice Day is the best thing that I heard in this last 4 years.

I agree... but my favs albuns are SWW/NJ.
No doubt about the best of Bon Jovi can be found during 80's, but in 90's they made two amazing albuns, especially These Days (for me at least).
The "new Bon Jovi" are so far from the real band spirit... Anyway, I'm keeping my faith to new album.

I blame my parents for waiting too long to get drunk one night and make me.

But i think lot of it has to do with the different Generations. I notice a lot of people on here who are 17-19 like the Crush/Bounce material..which is like you said the new material is good but IMO nowhere like the first 4 albums.

Well said!!!!! the new material is good but nowhere like the first 4 albums (i'm 22....)

A new radio station here in Philly just played White Lion's "WAit" I almost fell off my chair.

This is what Rock and Roll is all about : BJ and 7800
Kick Ass Records : SWW and NJ
Try to remember who we were (and we did it) : KTF and TD

I think the 90's albums were the best.
