It's time they got some recognition. If it cant be a Grammy, this is probably the next best thing. It will give them lots of exposure right before the BOX SET release.

I always thought Bon Jovi should be recognized with one of these awards.
It might be cheesy to some but the viewers watching always think its quite important and always listen closely. This award isn't the usual "best new rock group with a new song that isn't really rock but almost fits the rock genre anyway but their new song is a hit so we made this category so they could win" award from VH1. It has a bit more class so it should definitely do the band some justice. On top of that, a huge audience will be watching and listening. Hopefully the performance will be unique.

anyway, a merit award to celebrate the bands 20 years of existence was kind of predictable, but well, lets only hope the box set and the new album doesnt make us think that they dont deserve an award like this

I think they should play that new super duper version of Last Man Standing they have on the new album.
ok i don't actually know if it is super duper but it should work being that the award they are bein given.
or maybe something of the boxset.
or with a show of hands, Who wants to see a medley of It's my life and Bad Name.

Any song from the 80s would be stupid if they want to continue to show their validity as a modern band. It's My Life is way over played and would get the same reaction as any 80s tune. So they really do need to take the risk and do something new/different.

I agree that they should do something unique. If they do a medley of 80s tunes and IML, I'll be embarrassed. I am very thrilled though that they are finally being recognized.

I'm gonna take a stab and say they'll either do Last Man Standing, a cover-song, or something from the Box Set. Either of those I'd be fine with over their doing an 80s tune or medley. It's a tough call because they aren't promoting a new studio album and the box set just leaves it wide open.

but they will probably do 3 or 4 songs, 1 in the middel then close the show with a couple. I think Last man standing would be good, and very appropriate

or Dry county.
