but they will probably do 3 or 4 songs, 1 in the middel then close the show with a couple. I think Last man standing would be good, and very appropriate

or Dry county.

but now we'r getting hopeful agen folks

3-4 songs plus closing the show with a couple? When has any band been allowed to monopolize an awards show to that degree?

It's not about being sick of the songs.....its about telling a large general audience "this is all we have to offer....17 year old songs...we're still around and have nothing new that is worthy to offer after all this time."

Last Man Standing really is a good bet considering it is a chance to give it the kind of audience they would like it to have and is related to the occasion.

One ray of hope..the Oompas unwillingness to give up the song choice says they will probably do something different as opposed to an 80s nostalgia offering. Otherwise I would imagine they would be up front about it in the performance details.

i meant 3-4 songs in total, u missunderstood (christ, i hope they dont play that) Im basing it on both U2 and Duran Duran who won a similar awards at the Brits (and MTV europe?) they did 2 songs in the middel then closed the show with a big medley of hits.

Mmm - I'm guessing a song from the box --- I think they might play "Why aren't you death" ... Seem pretty proud of it (first song on the boxset-disc, song in the BJ.com-intro, they choosed to have the preview online,...) After all it's just a guess from me!!

Great they get honoured - they do deserve it Just hope I can watch it on some channel (could be a prob )

Oh dear lord, No. First of all..that song is really nothing but another edit of I'll Sleep When I'm Dead. 2nd of all.......the lyrics are Jon being a drama queen. I don't think they are neccessarily proud of it so much as they were just choosing to release a song that is an example of how an existing song can morph in the studio. Where the other songs are all brand new..this one was an early demo of SWID.

I've said it before..I laughed my ass off the first time I really paid attention to this song particularly with the line "that better be your girlfriend going down some other guy." It's just too over the top. I'd be embarassed if they went out playing this song....but I'm sure I can rest easy as it doesn't have a hope in hell of getting played.

No, it's not. No similar chords, no similar progressions, different beat, different structure. It's really close to Dude Looks Like A Lady, but it hasn't got anything but the word "Dead" in common with ISWID.

Ice? This is a shock. Yes, it has a different beat and chord progression....but it DOES have similar structure, particularly in the chorus...it not just the lyical similarity. That isn't where I got it and initially before I really sat down and gave it a thorough listen....I said the same as you.

It's definately not a simple edit....I shouldn't have said that. It's basically a hybrid of another song idea and what was eventually used in Sleep When I'm Dead..that much I am absolutely sure of. It begins right at the chorus and I'm going to try to illustrate it:

You said you couldn't live without me
Til I'm six feet under

So why aren't you dead?
Baby I don't need a bed

Instead of six feet under you're in someone elses bed
Gonna live while I'm alive, sleep when I'm dead

Just one thing that I can't get through my head
Til they roll me over and lay my bones to rest

(skip "gonna live while i'm alive, sleep when I'm dead, sleep when I'm dead" band goes silent at this point in both songs and then)

You said you couldn't live without me
Gonna live while I'm alive

So why aren't you dead?
Sleep when I'm dead

(band comes back in)

Sing Sleep When I'm Dead's lyrics over the chorus and it's a bit more clear. It's definately not the exact same song..but there is no doubt it's the same idea morphed.
