It's not my idea of a music review but clearly the writer is a disenchanted ex-Bon Jovi fan who "doesn't care". Fair enough I suppose But I would rather have had a decent musical review of why I shouldn't care rather than a personal history grudge one.
Thats how I read the debate as well. He also wrote in Kerrang and they made it their cause to slag BJ off as much as they could. The debate was supposed to be "should we care?" not "should dave ling care?".

Just browsing through the classic rock website and clicked on the CR tickets link. Amongst the shows advertised are such well known classic rock acts as
Gary Numan, Madness,X factor live and (wait for it)Chesney Hawkes Acoustic.
Talk about BJ selling out !

Each to their own Dave....he lost his way with Jovi back in 92. Fair enough. The guy does have some interesting views on music sometimes, although he loves Meatloaf and Magnum and lazily decided back in the early 90s that any band linked to the grunge movement was shit, which I thought was a bit daft. Whilst I don't agree with much of what he said about Jovi's post New Jersey output (dismissing Keep The Faith, These Days and Blaze of Glory especially), he could have at least bothered to listen to The Circle before posting his rant....He has a blog if anyone is interested (www.daveling.co.uk)

There was no debate, the two writers slammed Bon Jovi.

It is the consensus of Rock fans in the UK that Bon Jovi are a spent force. They just aren't relevant enough anymore. And appearing in The X Factor has hammered the final nail in their coffin.

Of course they will continue to be a huge touring band.
