Yea but considering how fast he responded to Jon's request to replace Richie I would say that they could make and exception for him.

Which he did do and I could totally agree with.

how can Dave mention drug addiction about a man he has not seen at all for the last 2 years ... this is not possible ...I think we give that interview way too much credits ... it's unrealistic that Dave could COMMENT about Richie's addiction without even meeting him at all ...

Well it makes sense, doesn't it? Jon had Phil on standby for the BWC because there was a chance Richie might bail/enter rehab right? Jon & Co obviously knew something was up with Richie and had the foresight to prepare a contingency.

The counter argument is that the tour shouldn't have happened with Richie in such a fragile state (if what David says was true in 2013) but it's unfair to the band who want to keep going and move on.

I dunno, with this info, I kinda think Richie should've gone to rehab again. I don't know his personal life, I haven't been in his position and I can't imagine how hard it is to make such big decisions with such a crowded head.

Not at all... they all run in the same circle and he could have gotten second hand info. Jon could have mentioned it to him... 'Hey, Richie is back in rehab'... It's that simple

It's also not true that the guys will go into the studio after the Asian-Tour! The new record is already done. It seems to be an old interview.

Phil said on social media that he still didn't recorded with the band. I think they need to work a thing or two on that album and that it isn't finished yet.

If you look at twitter and/or IG - Richie is not in rehab - pics all over the place and one recently with a martini in his hand so I guess he's not trying to hide now. I posted that pic on the RS/Ori appearances.

As to the band not seeing/talking to him in two years - maybe, maybe not. At a minimum they know and run a lot of the same circles still so I suspect they would know more than most people. I do think this interview is a mishmash from the past and possibly some current blended in.

He's spend 30 years with him. If you've spend a long time with a person you just know when something is off just by looking at a picture or two, or seeing a performance here and there. And with that said, plenty of people who've seen Richie play on his solo gigs know he's not exactly come across as sober. So what's the surprise?

That said, the interview is a mix of older and new quotes.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Wow, David pretty much threw Richie under the bus here. That is not in line what any of the band members have publicly said about Richie's departure. And I like it.
