Bon Jovi can ask £48 for tickets because Bon Jovi is popular enough to do that. It's that simple. Do you think e.g. Southside would draw crowds of x0,000?

But in case they want to keep the tic prices on that level, they need to do proper European, preferably world, tour. Popularity is exponential thingy.

And what do they say about that crazy isn't the one that asks but..?

the early stuff was the REAL deal - tainted ever since
I actually think Beatles is more overrated than the Stones, but that's probably because I like more Stones songs than Beatles songs .

I can however, see your point of the Stones tainting their legacy. I guess if Mick Jagger had suffered the same fate as John Lennon, the legacy wouldn't be tainted. Unfortunate early death tend to elevate a good artist to a great artist, and a great one to a legend.

Bon Jovi £48
Deep Purple £30
Yes £40
Page & Plant £25
Roger Waters £30
Keith Emerson £24
DIO £16
Alice Cooper/DIO £18

no you are wrong Derek (for UK anyway) - they are actually the dearest i have known other than Pavarottit, Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and Borcelli
yeah we should not forget that bon jovi are the most popular among the above (these days), that's why they have the most expensive tickets.
after all when the stones came here i paid around 35-40 euros but when i bought tickets for the bon jovi concert in italy i paid around 25 euros (standing tickets of course for both concerts). when deep purple come here (cause they come very often) their ticket price is 40 euros or something. i don't think that the bon jovi tickets are so expensive...
about all the other things krb said i agree :P

he does have a point here,,,the floor seats i bought were only about $60. floor seats for the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac are over $100 per seat. thats a little too pricy.

Comments on any other member of the band should be posted in the Non Bon Jovi forum.

If you feel you have an opinion to offer, or feel that you may be developing your own opinion please be advised that this is looked down upon and will probably be deleted.

Please not that you cannot sell concert tickets on this board. Jon has a monopoly on ripping off fans and he doesn't want others stealing his business.

Thank you for your time and enjoy complimenting Jon.

but then the real Fleetwood Mac was with Peter Green and I saw the Eagles live (at a rip off price in the UK) - they did a long show yes but there were only a few good songs in the whole set and 2 of those you've guessed were hotel california and life in the fast lane...

they are in it primarily for money

one thing noone understands is that:

yes BJ are more popular than the above but that does not justify high ticket prices because if they are cramming 60,000 into a football stadium (while of course it costs more to hold a concert at a stadium than an arena, even with the same priced tickets (as at an arena) proportionately they will make more money just because of the numbers}

if there is high demand for a concert it should techincally mean that ticket prices can be cheaper

but the band/(whoever is in charge anyway) sees this more as a chance to maximise profits rather than "play for the fun of rock n roll" and make some money while they are it
