"In my life I've gotten to a place that I finally feel comfortable in my own shoes," he says. "I know who I am, I know what I have - and haven't - accomplished. That's what I'm saying when I sing the opening line 'In my rearview mirror my life is getting clearer.' I'm not trying to keep up with the Joneses or impress New York glitterati anymore, what I'm singing is simple - this is who I am, this is what I do."
Isn't that exactly what he said about Just Older and the Crush album? It amazes me that Jon is calling this the best song he and Richie have written because not only is it just an amalgum of about 8 different songs they written in the last 7 years, it's probably the most cliched song they've ever written, and that's saying a lot. And putting aside the fact that he thinks this is a better song then These Days or Wanted to name just two. The mind boggles.
