Same here Kathleen. I don't live far from Coltsneck and I never heard anything about it. I believe this was his 3rd auction. I heard about his first one but nothing about this one at all.

I think it's sad though. I mean, he auctioned off his platinum record from KTF. I can see getting rid of clothes and other stuff, but a platinum record is something special. At least to me it would be. That would be like an actor selling their Academy Award.

Yeah thats why i always thought, that those awards and platinum/golden records where special. But a few days ago i saw an old interview with Jon and he said that he has given away most of his awards (like the MTV one's) and that there isnt a platinum record hanging in his house. And he had given away most of them also. He doesnt find them special. So i guess Alec feels the same way.

It's only cold cash that matters to them.....

thats a bit harsh , I think the first awards u get are probably special but after that maybe u take then for granted, I think it must be hard to appreciate awards and stuff when the same people are wuite often stabbing u in the back.

If I am correct, Jon really did just GIVE them away. At least I think the MTV one, he just handed to someone. I may be mistaken, but I thought I read that somewhere.

Didnt Jon give away the MTV Lifetime Achievement award he got in 1989 or 1990 and I remember him throwing the MTV EMA award for best male into the crowd in 1997(he wasnt exactly sober at the time).

I think he said that in Behind the Music that he walked off the satge and gave the award to some girl standing there.. would need to watch it again to be sure though.
