Default News on Japanese Release - Affects Imports & Pre-orders

Looks like bad news for all those who have pre-ordered the Japanese Release. I wonder if this is (or is part of) "the plan" that the oompas have been referring to for weeks now....hmmm?

I have to agree that it won't work in stopping the internet downloading. I have already pre-ordered the domestic release from Amazon, I obviously have every intention of buying the album. However, due to my impatience, I have already downloaded & burned the entire album, as well as all the b-sides! Nice try...but, Bounce is already out in cyberspace! It kicks a** by the way...

UNIVERSAL JAPAN BARS EXPORTS OF NEW BON JOVI OPUS:

An interesting development in the lead up to the Japanese release of Bon Jovi's Bounce CD.

Universal Music Japan have notified all it's customers that they have decided to withhold the supply of the CD to retailers for exports. So no companies in Japan are allowed to sell the CD to international customers - either to individuals or to wholesalers.

The CD is released in Japan September 11, two weeks ahead of the International release and nearly 4 weeks ahead of the North American release.

This is an effort to contain exports and flooding of markets where the album is not yet released.

Big mistake. Sorry to say, but if this is an effort to curb Internet piracy, it is bound to backfire. There are legitimate fans that would have ordered the album from Japan and paid the extra for the bonus tracks and the early release.

Now they will almost certainly hunt the album down on the Net, just as soon as some Japanese fan gets hold of his copy and uploads it. The single Everyday is out in some markets and already the B-Sides are available online.

For the record, these songs are a solid indication of what is to come. In particular, No Regrets and Lucky are great rockers that really sound as if they should be on the album!

As for the album itself, the first inside word comes from site regular and buddy Matt in the USA. He heard one run through of the album and says it's 6 rockers and a mix of 6 mid-tempo/softer/ballads. Of the 6 rockers, he says "the rockers are going to shock some people, but I think in a positive way. Nothing like Slippery When Wet, but much more modern. Think rocked out Creed (The Distance, Love Me Back); think modern rocked out Billy Idol (Hook Me Up); think rocked out crunchier It's My Life (Undivided, Bounce). Heavy crunching guitar riffs, synthesizers, orchestra, powerful choruses. If you thought Everyday was good wait until you hear the others."
