It's a very good straight forward (meant to be that way) song.
They should have kept it live.

like someone mentioned above, im still not sure about this song. Come to think of it, i rarely ever listen to it.. i hate the Na Nas and the horns that play over them, just doesnt sound right to my ear. might be the key theyr sang in..just sounds weird! the bit where it brakes into double time is great, solo could have been better - its quite hard to pick out the way richies done it, its not the typical lead guitar clear effect.

but i like the verses and its good to see the band really jamming away.. 6.5/10 id give it!

that said id love to see it live replaceing bad Mx/sleep etc

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

I agree, the solo just doesn't sound that clear, it's hard to hear some of what Richie is playing. It's the only reason I listen to the song though on the very rare occasion that I actually play the album.

Default 100 Years...

There's a lot to love on the 'Crush' opus, but,'Next 100 Years' has never been one of my favouries --

It just seems a very contrived effort by Jon and the band to write another 'Hey Jude'. I'm surprised Paul McCartney didn't get a co-write^

Every time I hear it it,it simply smacks of a concerted effort to ape 'Hey Jude',a workmanlike imitation rather than an inspired original.

Also to answer the question about it being his best solo since Dry County, I'd say Damned is the best one, I also think Right Side Of Wrong has a decent solo but is an awful song.

Next 100 years as a song I think its very good bordering on superb, love the main solo and its up there with his best, being Dry County, Wanted and Damned.
