I think that for now Jon will record some demos but he will wait with them to see how his collaboration with Avicii will look.

I'm pretty sure that song with Avicii is something that Jons record company want to try. Avicii will put on his Cd 4 rock vocalist representing different style. If Jon & Avicii song will be good then they'll realise it as a single and if it will be hit then I'm sure that they wanted realise next Jon album which will be remixed by DJ like Avicii or Guetta ecc.

I see many strange collaborations so Jon can be another "strange" project.

If song won't be succesful I see Jon working on his solo album in Not Running & Old habits style.

Next BJ album with Phil ? Yes but after Jon solo record.

Yeah, that was me 20 years ago, when I was waiting for another New Jersey or Keep The Faith. Unfortunately what we've got was These Days and I stopped hoping.

Whaaaaaaaaa You mean, you don't want to lick his helicopter?! You don't want to live on the moon and watch this world like a cartoon? He'll even bring the rock... from his cock (is it me or does that sound painful?)

It was just a mediocre album and after such masterpieces as New Jersey and Keep the Faith, it was a big disappointment. Don't get me wrong, it's not an awful album and certainly not the worst by Bon Jovi camp, but in my opinion it's one of the most overrated BJ albums, especially on this forum.

They did have more credibility back then, yes. But to say they were a lot more credible than nowadays? Nah...To die hards there's a big difference to the current stuff and the old stuff, but the average fan will consider it all the same. Bon Jovi will always be that hair band from the eighties with a few hits in the nineties, and they've done too little after New Jersey that's been relevant enough to get rid of that stigma.

After BWC I've no doubt that last bit of credibility is on a knife edge. Calling it a day would be the sensible thing to do in order to maintain some of that legacy, releasing a new album next year would only confirm to me that this band has lost the plot.
The thing is, people talk about It's My Life, Bounce and HAND as if they're still relatively new albums. Most of it is over a decade old now, the band hasn't had an international hit since It's My Life, which was 14 years ago. It's My Life made them lose their credibility to begin with, once the band continued to release their most poppy songs of their career anything they had left of their credibility was pretty much gone. The band alienated a lot of fans with the release of Bounce, as it was the second album that was a let down after the huge amount of fans they attracted with These Days.

So yeah, credible? Releasing no more albums right now might not tarnish their reputation any further, but frankly, after These Days the band were pretty much done as a studio act, and it took them a good 15 years to get back to that level as a live act as well. by the time shows had gotten back to the same quality the fans they've alienated over the years have completely interest. There's no one out there anymore but die hards who think the band has any credibility left.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Haha I guess you are right. I guess I'm mainly pissed off that I never lived through their 'glory years' so to speak. I remain optimistic.

As has been said, as much as I am sick of Richie's yapping, no Richie = No Bon Jovi. It's one thing to try and tour with a replacement after tickets have been sold. It's another to record a record without him and tour with fans knowing full well Richie won't be there.
