As far as I'm concerned, TAALS is just awful drivel. The guitar work is closer to Enrique Iglesias than to, say, Bryan Adams. I _much_ prefer Bells Of Freedom with its pop/rock sound.

Really? I love it. Especially the live version....
Enrique Iglesias? Surely that comparison only happens because there's a Spanish version of it.

I would be more than happy with a record in the vein of " BOUNCE " If " TD" is the most overrated, " BOUNCE" is surely the most underrated .

Absolutely my fave record the boys !

Bounce tanked worse than These Days did. I just don't see them going the downtuned Creed route again.

I don't give a shit if it tanked, i love the heavier tunes on it, some good ballads.

Sales don't make a good record do they. Its up there with Slippery , NJ, etc, defo in my top 3 i would say.

But you just know we are gonna get WAN Part 2, that's the sad thing about it, chasing that hit song again, at this point they have nothing to lose, plenty to prove with the " Rock " crowd, i say go for it

They're chasing the times. WAN's sound has a much better chance of being popular than Bounce's sound was because that's the sound of the times. I enjoy Bounce, I'm just being realistic. If Bounce had some better guitar solos and a big more swagger and fun it'd be up there for me. I'm just being realistic with what the band will put out and why.

These Days did NOT tank. Yes, in the US it did. But outside the US it was pretty much their biggest ever record...See, even fans have that misconception....

I actually got my references mixed up. I was thinking about Eros Ramazzotti, not Iglesias. Cheesy Italian ballad pop. I guess Iglesias isn't even Italian, but you know, he still fits the Southern macho bill.

I liked Bounce quite a bit when it was released, but several songs just feel so underdeveloped. The drum loops also never sounded good, especially since they're so primitive. It's not like there was hot breakbeat action on the album.

Everyday to me is the prime example of a song that has a pretty cool guitar arrangement, but still sounds flat. It never quite clicked with me sonically. But it seems the vocal melody itself is not the problem either, as this version sounds great:

And that's the whole record, basically. Some very cool ideas, but only a handful executed to their full potential. Undivided and Misunderstood I guess have great studio versions. Bounce has a kick-ass riff, but other than that, it's pretty much by the numbers. Still a very good song, but you know, an additional dash of inspiration sure would have helped.

I'm aware it didn't bomb worldwide, my point was more they generally go by how the sales were on their home turf. How things are trending across the water isn't going to effect their sound. A bomb here and a success there still equals a bomb to them or else they'd still be playing those songs when touring America.

When I opened my These Days CD there was an Eros Ramazzotti CD in it, imagine my reaction to it .

I think the songs fro Bounce have some nice edges BUT the instruments seem to be too mashed up (The Distance in particular) I thought the demos had some potential and would have made the album a lot better.
