actually, letitrock, there used to be same spelling in england, too. words such as favor etc. used to be spelled the same way in britain. but then a few centuries ago it somehow became fashionable to put an "u" into the words as well. the americans didn't take over this "improvement", though

I knew that sounded way too familiar. :P Education is the key to success. Don't I sound like a teacher.

Here is the problem we are having in the music industry these days:

Bon Jovi have all the talent in the world musically, (just listen to These Days) to make great sounding hard rock. There is no doubt about it. They have done it in the past, why can't they do it now? Well, they can, but it gets put to the wayside by producers. "WE WANT MONEY!"

The record producers, marketing, etc; They feel that, in order for Bon Jovi to continue to be at best- successful, then they must pattern them after some of the bands out today.

We get all these drum-loops, and no guitar solo, and some cheesy chorus. Why? Because people like a simpler song...at least the ones who still envy MTV and Top 40 radio. "The ticket to MY success" as the record producers, and marketers think! They gotta make their money somehow...your popularity AND talent degraded to clones of other bands, just for the sake of a few dollars....

So, Bon Jovi get stuck, musically at least, having to release "pop-generated" singles. Think about it. Misunderstood, while it is a good song, isn't all that challenging OR heavy. All About Loving You? Please...save it for N'Sync.

Hey God, Undivided (weak chorus)...hell, even If I Was Your Mother (depsite cheesy chorus) are all showings that the boys can "rock."

When it gets down to it, what do we all like better?? A thrashing guitar solo, or 4 bars of a drum machine and a keyboard??

That's what I thought...

Take Care,
Norm
