Compare them with whatever, they still are pop.

So what? Pop or rock is just a label! There's much more to it than just that!

What's so bad about pop music being incorporated into rock anyway. The Beatles did it didn't they? Micheal Jackson is pure pop and you rarely hear people say his music sucks..
Bon Jovi wrote really good pop songs, such as You give love a bad name, and Livin on a Prayer. They rock, but they're still of a radio friendly length, and have a lot of the characteristics of the music at that time. However, those songs rock. Unfortunatly I think the problem with Bon Jovi now is they try to adapt what they do best to what the market wants, and you end up with songs such as 'thank you for lovin me' and 'Say it isn't so'. In effect, nothing wrong with writting pop songs, but Bon Jovi have spent the last ten years writting shit ones!

BJ rocks cause they put feeling into their music (I'll be there for you for example).

It seems like you've heard Slip Knot and think that that's what rock music is.

Rock music is rock music because it has attitude... I'll be there for you rocks because it has attitude. Because when they did it live the band 'rocked out', Jon throwing in the rock screams, and all the long silences.
It's nieve to think that jsut because the song is slow, and about love that it has any more feeling in it than a faster rock song. I mean you want to see feeling just look at Richie's face when he plays! Tell me that that guy doesn't put feeling into the heavier riffs!

As for Motley Crue, I always thought they were as much of a pop band as Bon Jovi were... 'Girls Girls Girls'. As for being a 'hard rock' band. LOL
