Alec's royalties are pretty much limited to the first two albums. He hasn't played on anything since 7800. And he didn't play on Runaway, so he doesn't even get it's royalties, not that any of the other guys do either.

He gets a little from the released live performances, but I don't think he's living off Bon Jovi royalties, he must've saved some of the money from the tours.

Ya dont think they will ever step out of it again and its a shame-perhaps when Jon releases his Solo album and doesnt have to fit into a "Jovi " sound the Artistic creativity may return-After all D.A is a good album

Yes, I suppose Hugh has been the bass player in the studio for much longer than we may have thought.

Anyway, how do you know Alec hasnīt played in the studio since 7800? I mean, has it been somehow "confirmed"?

Ice donīt get me wrong, I am not arguing with you and I genuinely think you are right about this. Itīs just that itīd be interesting to hear the cold facts.

Hugh said so on his official site in the Q&A. He said he's played on everything from Slippery onwards. And there are plenty of interviews where Alec says he doesn't want to record with Bon Jovi around KTF.

Yes they do. The facts speak for themselves, you can build theories all you want but as long as the facts speak for themselves there's not much to build on anyway.

THIS WIPES YOUR ARGUMENT OFF THE TABLE
No it doesn't. I just gave you the fact that a producer has already been paid. A producer gets a cut, he's paid during the recording of an album and that's it. He doesn't get a share when a song is re-released. His job is already done. So like I said, it wipes your argument of the table, and this fact does mean something to your argument.

THIS WIPES YOUR ARGUMENT OFF THE TABLE
Saying whatever doesn't wipe any argument of the table at all. It merely means you're clueless. Pretty much everyone from the Bon Jovi camp have confirmed that there aren't that many live recordings left from the early days. There's nothing to pick from because there's nothing there. There's a few odd songs here and there but nothing to write home about. So where does this put your argument? Exactly; off the table.

Okay. One More Time. Try to keep up. I said Jon didn't include the Bounce songs b/ the were "mediocre HITS" so b/ of that, it wasn't worth paying Royalties to that guy. Simple!!!!! All your other ramblings after that are pointless to this fact!!!!!!!
THIS WIPES YOUR ARGUMENT OFF THE TABLE
No they weren't. Everyday was a huge song in Europe and South America, as was Misunderstood. In fact, Everday was a much bigger hit than songs like Lost Highway, (You Want To) Make A Memory, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead and Someday I'll Be Saturday Night were. So what's all this bullshit about mediocre hits you're spouting off now? I bring you the facts, you want people's input, yet as soon as someone makes you come across as a fool with your ramblings about royalties and paying off producers you get upset.

A producer doesn't get a cut if a song is re-released. Neither does Alec, as he didn't play on most of the album tracks. Your theories are based upon thoughts you created in your head, not the facts that are out there.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Whatever Ice. I know more about this band than most people on this board. I'm 36, from Central Jersey, Seen them live 34 times, Discovered the band around 7800, followed them since Slippery, Think I OWN just about everything (musically) - Released/Unreleased.

Back in 92, Dave & I belonged to the same gym. He'd go during the day while I was in school so I only ran into him once.

Ran into Jon once in a restaurant in Red Bank in '97. That was very cool. Talk to him in the parking lot. He couldn't be bothered but I didn't care. Also was next to Jon once while driving down the shore. Funny, I'll held my KTF CD cover out the window to show him and the wind caught it. He probably thought I was throwing something at him so he just hit the breaks. Black Mercedes, semi tinted windows. His wife was next to him.

Awesome, you never saw David because you were in school and ran into Jon when he didn't care. And you OWN pretty much everything, yet you can't spell the former bass player's name. Yeah, this makes it all very credible. But I can do the same, look;

I got into the band in 1997, seen them live over 20 times in just 10 years time (which is when you break it down way more often than you did since SWW), ran into Tico in London, saw the whole band passing by but didn't get the chance to talk to them as they were in a van escorted by the police and I was in another car. I went to the same restaurant Jon once was and was at the train station where the cover for TLFR was shot.

See what I did there? And yet I can actually spell his name. Wow, this must mean my resume is incredible and therefore I can now make up ridiculous theories as well. As a matter of fact, I'll start by saying that Jon didn't want Dry County on the Greatest Hits because of the oil spill. Yeah, that should work.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Thank you. Iīve always wanted to see that written down. Not that itīs such a big thing really but merely as a "nice-to-know" kind of thing

Had no idea about this. So Hugh's been recording from SWW onwards while Alec played the live shows up until KTF? How come Hugh never became an official member if he's this involved with the band?
