Val, I'm one of those that were at Alpine and didn't notice Jon having any problems. After coming over to DC, and reading how Jon's voice sucked so bad, I'm thinking about going to get my ears checked. I wish I could hear what everyone else heard but from where I stood, he sounded great.

don't mean to offend - but that's because they were there! i thought MK2001 was much better than it actually was

nothing to do with soundboard feed

we heard perfectly how bad his voice was

not a big deal cos it wasn't my show and hopefully a minority in terms of the ratio of good to bad performacnes

So I guess to me that goes back to, with all due respect, so what? I was so thrilled to hear it live even via the web. I know it is a tough song to sing especially after 2 hours of singing already and he chose to sing it for the fans anyway. First people complain about the set lists then they complain that Jon can't sing like he used to when he sings a rarity. No singer in his 40's sounds like he did in his 20's- all older singers have to adapt the songs to fit the way they sing now. This is live performance- if you want perfection every concert the lip synched N'Sync concert I attended with my kids had that

you don't think prayer is more difficult? in fact the "living on a prayyyeeer" bit leading to guitar solo is much harder than the screams - indeed KTF is prob most difficult song jon still sings and he generally nails that these days

As I said the other day, when you are there, you wont notice it at all, and its great you dont. You are just so into the concert that you are almost in a blur, its hard to describe. He could totally miss a note and youd barely know. I always hate the fact I never really get to hear Richie that great when Im there, I usually dont get to hear the guitars perfectly till a dvd or live cd is playing. Concerts are very high energy, you would never notice any issues, and if you did you probably are not enjoying it.

For some reason getting David, Richie and Hugh to back up songs such as Bad Medicine and Livin On A Prayer doesnt bother me.

Fair enough Jon is the lead singer and should be singing all the high notes and all the low notes but I think Prayer and Bad Medicine sound really good with the band backing him up.

Another thing, yeah Jons voice is not like it was but I dont think its dropped in form majorly. Take a song like Bed Of Roses, the chorus is very tricky to sing especially the "BED OF NAILLLLSSS" bit, that is high, and me being a singer, i know. Also you could say Something to believe in or Always, Jon most of the time (we all have our bad days) reaches and performs superbly.

I thought These Days was sung wonderfully at Hyde Park, its the best version ive heard of the song in a long time, and im glad they brought that song back to the setlist.

To be honest I would love to sing like Jon, and if I had his voice, i would be very proud of it because it is fantastic.
