Skip to the live performance. I'm pretty sure that he sounds back like he was before they have their big break. Pre SWW in short. Don't know if the sound or the mic was messed up during the performance but he really sounds like his original self here.
It's pretty obvious that the tape is sped-up which transposed the key.

Exactly. The tape is definitely playing in the wrong key since it's too fast.

In my opinion, one of the best post-2k Keep The Faith performances:

https://youtu.be/1fsHAfCCbS4

I don't know what Jon was on that night, but whatever it was, it worked. The guy went absolutely f***ing nuts during the song again and all those screams/raspy vocals, ad-libs etc. were truly amazing to hear! The rest of the band was kicking an unexpected (even back then) amount of ass there, too. I guess Philadelphia really IS a special place for Bon Jovi!

Philly usually gets good shows. I was at this one and it was quite good. Though the show at MSG a few nights later was better. We don't always get rarities here but we do tend to get good shows.

Very good one and definitely a top-5/10 contender for me.
However, my favourite is the one from New Jersey 2000 even though Tico made a slight mistake in the beginning. The way Jon pushes for the "try to hold on, I've been trying to hold on" line and Richie then bursts through the final solo gets me everytime:

Quite cool promo interview with the full band prior to the release of KTF:

An amazing performance of These Days from Vancouver 2011:

https://youtu.be/Qalur8KCoog

Hearing Jon nail pretty much all the high notes while moving around the stage and interacting with the fans at the same time almost makes me cry thinking about how much things have changed. There are two notes (if I counted correctly) where his voice cracks a bit, but he clearly couldn't care less and just soldiers on, going for every single note (even the "Oh no no's" after the solo).

Plus, instead of just the regular two, he sings THREE high "Ain't nobody left but us..." parts - and absolutely nails them all.

And to think this was the second to last song of the second night (both lasting about three hours) in a row... my God, even back then it must have been considered extremely impressive!

A magical performance. I really, really, really, really, really miss those times.

Man what a lame audience for such a great performance. I agree that was awesome! No wonder they don't play those songs in NA if that's the reaction for a monster These Days like that.

Not exactly.

You're not wrong here, that was a GOOD performance, but not even close to the best These Days from that era. This I would consider to be a GREAT version of These Days from that era and performances from the subsequent shows in Sao Paulo and Rio were just as good. Those amazing SA audiences really get the most out of Jon.

Jon really does ALL the "oh no no's" + (and this is the important part) goes high on the "but THESE DAYS part" right after the solo (at the 6:42 mark). I still remember how much I marked out when I first watched it. And then off course the very final "ain't nobody left but us" bit to end the song (8:32); which if I'm not mistaken has ONLY been done on that SA leg in 2010! Just a fantastic performance all around.

I would LOVE if somebody could remaster this performance and give it the spotlight it deserves (bonjovi90, please!!!)
