When people think I constantly bitch about Jon's voice, this is the reason. He was able to do THIS so recently and then went to struggling in Who Says almost overnight. The way he fell of a cliff in 2011-2014 is still mindblowing. I'm a massive music geek and I have never seen anything like that before or since.

I agree with your points overall. But I honestly think that Jon was in his post-2k prime there - even on the OWN tour he struggled way more on STBI than he did in Sydney. Just listen to him struggle his way through the song in Tokyo 2001:

That must have been one of the first occasions in concert where Jon honestly sounded bad. His voice was shot to pieces during the song. Actually, what he was doing there was not singing - it was shouting/screaming. Seems like there's something vaguely familiar about that statement...
On the other hand, 2011 got rather choppy performances of the song in general as well (miles better than that Tokyo one, though), but I still like the Vancouver version a lot:

Jon turning around to cough after holding (and nailing, may I add) that last long note is priceless.
Man, the Circle/GH tour had so many great moments... for example, one of my favorite Prayer performances of all time was given in Hyde Park '11:

Compare that to the Sao Paulo '17 version:

While Jon was already struggling a bit on Prayer back in '11, it was nowhere close to the sheer horridness of recent renditions. Okay, he somehow managed to nail those "Whoa-oh-oh-ooh..." parts in Sao Paulo, but apart from those, the whole song was an inconsistent shoutfest there (as always, basically), even though Jon surprisingly was moving around like he did back in the day.
