Take this with a grain of salt but that Bad Name was probably one of the best I've heard in a couple years... Leave it up to a cover band to play it close to the album version...

Speeding it up a little is the kick in the ass Jon needs... they are not allowing him to drag out his words...

Especially on the second verse, there are parts where he wants to drag out words but the back up vocals are moving faster so he can't or they are just singing over him but either way, this is how it should be done moving forward. Again, take it with a grain of salt... Still not something I want to drive down the shore listening to but at least the song is somewhat woken up and not as dreadful...

He actually sounds good on Rising Sun and Spell On You... but horrible on his own classics...

I guess Jon's vocal problems are not as overwhelmingly horrifying as we've previously supposed them to be. For the first time in a long time I actually enjoyed listening to him sing anything.

EDIT: I'm sure Walleris will take this comment as another opportunity to bring up his 120% analogies. However, even It's My Life sounded OK-ish, and it's not a 120% song in the same way as the power ballads. Bad Medicine was also much better than it's been in years, with Jon even hitting some of the high "your love is like BAD medicine" parts on the choruses. Superstition (hard to sing) was also very decent.

I'm not optimistic yet (as my hopes regarding Jon's voice have come crashing down many times in recent years), but I guess there's still something left in him. What, how much, and especially for how long, I don't know, but that's another story.

EDIT 2: Or is it just because the KOS shows are shorter and further between than the regular BJ tour ones?

He can sing lower ranged / slower paced songs pretty decent...

Other than that, he sings like that American Idol guy William Hung 'She Bangs'... and I'm not even trying to being funny... It's unlistenable baby talk...

His pacing due to breathing in combination with higher range songs are like mixing oil and water... and I really think the problem is his vocal coach...

He's singing word for word and adding extra syllables so he can sing in key and within range. He's getting lost in the song and it's messing up the pacing. He needs to sing like he's ripping off a band aid instead of slowing ripping one off...

Yesterday proved that if he just does the opposite, songs will sound so much better... maybe not vocally correct note for note but he needs to sing the verse and not just focus on each individual word within the verse... it's much more natural

I wouldn't say that Bad Name was on a 2013 level but it was actually listenable for once...

It seems that Jon sounds generally better on cover songs than on his own stuff in recent years. He doesn't over think them as much and just goes for it. At least that's my impression.
