I like this. It's a shame Richie still thinks he has to sing the songs though because he makes it so very awkward. The arrangement isn't that bad. It's generic, but it works. If only he'd rehearse stuff like this properly people might actually give a damn again because at times it's clear he enjoys playing stuff like this. I think this is the closest he's gotten to properly jamming out to Bon Jovi songs.

This! He is clearly is having a good time playing the stuff he wants to play, but godammit why does he find it so hard to get well rehearsed and tight. I get the fact that he wants to keep it lose and "Jammy" but it just sounds sloppy at times. The constant revolving band members doesn't help either I suppose....

Still it's great to see him bring out stuff like this occasionally.

Agreed with you and Seb. He has/had an opportunity to bring out the die hard fans sick of the band's setlist by doing rarer album cuts. Tokyo Road was out of his vocal range but I feel like instead of trying to hit those chorus notes the backing vocals were more than fine to do that part.

Very cool Tim Pierce interview about Runaway and Jon

Edit: also cool to hear that he played the solo on Please Come Home For Christmas. It would be nice for Jon to try an reconnect with him again for some future tunes. They almost have a little chemistry. Jon needs a good old school session guitarist... Definitely a better fit than Shanks and Phil...
