After almost 11 years, I suspect this remains the best live performance of Always since 1996. Nothing in particular stands out that much, but Jon just nails it and sounds so clear, not nasal at all. Especially the way he hits the "stars don't SHINE"/"words don't RHYME" notes sounds like way back then.

PS. The stink eye towards Dave during the last chorus is priceless

It's pretty great, but I'd argue some of the 2001 performances are at least better vocally

Does anyone remember - and have a link - an interview with Jon and Richie where Jon is completely out, annoyed, and would rather be anywhere else, leaving Richie to answer all the questions. I guess it was around the Bounce to Have a Nice Day era because it was bimbo Jon.

I'm pretty sure this is the interview you're looking for:

In my opinion, rather than simply annoyed and indifferent, Jon seems hungover. He literally looks like he's about to throw up.

It is so good but the performance in Chicago around the same time is even better. Is there a full version of the Chicago 2010 show on YouTube? Jon was unbelievable that night.

Bon Jovi - Always - Live Chicago 2010 - YouTube
I don't think a full bootleg of this show (night #1) even exists - at least not a video one. Night #2 apparently exists as an audio recording, though. I'm pretty sure someone like Dominik could know about this better than me

Thanks. It's been years since I last seen it and maybe you're right. There are some definite sighs, but they could be the old throw sighs from a hang over. Breath out slowly or chuck it up.

Who knows.
