To say that Jon has written the best Bon Jovi songs discredits quite a few people especially Richie.

I will however admit that songs he wrote on his own are great like BOR, Always, Dry County, Blaze of Glory etc. but as you pointed out, he has also written utter shit like I Got the Girl and Complicated.

Also, Richie has never written anything by himself for the band, so we don't know and will never know what he could have produced for the band as we all have pointed out that Richie writes differently for himself and others than he does with Jon for the band.
I didn't mean it quite how it sounded... I struggle for the right words most of the time.

I, like you, actually tend to prefer the collabs between the two of them, and often Desmond aswell.

I was just trying to say that Jon writes amazingly good songs on his own, ones that I think do stand out when you look back - DC, I Believe, BOR (not Always )... y'know... and ummm... yeah...... I don't know what the reason is; if Richie is incapable or just doesn't because it's not the kind of music he wants to make on his own, but he hasn't written anything that good ON HIS OWN. Whereas, when he writes with other people, we get songs like SITT, TD, US, Wanted...

But, as with everything, it all comes down to personal taste and opinion. I mean, I would probably take Stranger over anything Jovi have done, because I love Richie's writing style, and obviously his singing & playing. It just appeals to me more than Jon's solo stuff, but that doesn't mean to say one is better than the other.

Molly Meldrum interviews Richie in 1998, he mentions his songwriting.

See, the songs that sound like BON JOVI (for the most part anyway), are the JBJ/RS and/or JBJ/RS/DC songs. The ones that Jon writes alone don't actually sound like Bon Jovi, they could basically all fit on DA.

--but TD was written with Richie.

The three major writers/teams (JBJ, JBJ/Sambora, a JBJ/Sambora/Child) are all good to great in there own ways IMO.

What's the use posting anything at all if above??? Its like talking to a person without a opinion or a politician.

Agreement is all part of conversation. You don't have to have your own point to make.

I do have a few thoughts on th whole songwriting thing, but my summary would have been that ^, so I saved myself the hassle.

Ok, let me write it nice and clear for you:
I like both JBJ's solo writing and JBJ's writing with Richie, but that there is a definable difference that leads to differences both good and bad.
