I can't think it's anything other than that tbh.
Nice to hear an explanation from one of the experts. The thing is - when Terri an I first noticed it, These Days had yet to be played at all on this tour. I just assumed that it was guitar playing induced hand stress. Jon has been playing more guitar this tour than he had for a while - especially on the US arena tour while doing Thorn in My Side.

Yeah, I think it is probably just aches and pains from playing more guitar than he's used to. I hope so anyway otherwise we might not see 'Thorn In My Side' or the acoustic sets being continued as regularly as they are just now.

Edited. In and Out of Love acoustic. Doubt they'd do it that way.

Im pleased you said that, I am really confused by what song it is. It just sounds like a little Jammin session. Unless its Richies sign to Jon that he wants to do something off the cuff (as in play the In and Out of Love request) and Jon said no?

thanks for the wonderful videos!

As to the controversial start - I have a feeling that it was a part of the pre-planned scenario. Just to make things funny. The effect was achieved - Jon said it in a playful way, then he pointed to the band, and then, as if under the touch of the magic wand, the melody of Wanted started to flow. And then everything went on smoothly. It was all that well synchronized and all the gestures were so perfectly done that I am sure it was a part of the show. Actually I like this incident. Introduces some variety to the regular routine pattern of the formal show. And this is how it was meant to function.
