You can also barely hear the crowd. It seems the switch over to the more HD lifestyle has sacrificed some of the good qualities. Some of the SE songs are well mixed though (KTF in particular). The Obie stuff on BJ.com is awful, though.

I like the MSG DVD, to be honest. Not a great performance on some songs, but I like the production.

Why can't they just realize that Obie is a horrible mixer?
Probably the wrong thread for this but where is Obie? He's not chatting anymore. Not involved at all with the NMS videos. just curious

Could it be with the live mixing itself? Like what happens AS the guys are playing? Maybe Richie's got some different equipment from previous tours, or they have some different cameras, mics, recording equipment, etc. Richie's tone on some of the proshot stuff has been pretty thin and lacking some bass (I guess that's how I would put it), and it seems like it started around May. And as Walleris pointed out they sound WAY better in person or on audience vids.

Nevertheless, I still dig having proshot stuff from any show.

Prayer (acoustic) from the Evening w/ BJ show in 1992. Just amazing. KTF era Bon Jovi was just stellar.

that's great work Thierry too bad I cannot stand that song ... supermeeeeee tonight

I saw a message wondering why is obie still around .. I think it's because Obie has a guarantied job for life. I think there are a few names in the bon jovi organisation about who I don't get why they are still used as they are not very good or very professional ...but it's like once you enter the 'family' you are in for good, even if your are not doing a proper work (I mean a good work regarding the importance of the ppl you are working for ) ......JMO but it's not just Obie ...I am still wondering what is the Alec status today and what did Alec do in real (not what is said mediatically) to get fired coz it's not excellence that is the key word to work for jovi

I was just thinking about the Alec thing the other day since jon recently said Alec "quit the business", which was the first time it had been put this way. Over the years we've heard it was because he kept messing up live, he was on drugs, he didn't want to continue working as hard as the rest of the band members did. I think it's probably a combination of all these things. It's obvious he wasn't a great musician but Jon kept him around as long as he could until he'd finally had enough. If he didn't want to improve his playing, clean himself up or continue to work hard in the band, how can they keep him? Maybe in Jon's way of thinking he did "quit the business" simply because he chose not to work at keeping a place in the band.

Why Obie is still around is another story. Maybe because unlike Alec, keeping Obie doesn't jeopardize the band as a live act? (Although he's ruined many live project releases) He's been there since day one and seems to have "tenure" along with a few others. (like Paul and Mike but at least those two seem to do their jobs well enough)

S I know all this but what we are informed about and reality is probably different ... you are right though that the bon jovi entourage doesn't 'seem' to jeopardize the band as much as alec could have BUT I think there is something else ... some ppl in the bon jovi entourage do a crappy work but still are around ... and some are fired for nothing ...

what is mike rew 's job ?

Awesome. When they started to drop some of The Circle songs from the set lists (or at least include them inconsistently), I wish they would have kept Superman and occasionally skipped WWWB.

Probably the first time they did LOAP acoustic wise on tour. Very passionate performance and Jon tells the story behind the song:
