What does Jon say at 1:36? I've noticed that he used to sing that verse during the TD tour instead of ''There's nights you know I wanna scream''
"These nights are longer than they seem."
He used to sing that a lot on the 1995 and '96 shows. Either he liked it more for some reason or it was a lyrics that was present in many demo versions of the song and only changed in the end while he had already gotten used to singing the other line.
Something similar happened with Any Other Day where he almost never sang "I'm wishing this morning was still last night", but opted to go for "I hear still spinning, yeah, you know I" on most of the performances.

I always thought it was 'my head's still spinning, baby you know why' - No idea where I got that from then

That sounds right to me. I'm not sure why he changed it but I seem to remember him singing it the original way for quite a bit before he changed it.

There was 1 show on the Crush tour that he sang the alternate opening line of Say it Isn't So, and I never knew if it was intentional or not.

That rasp at 1:00 made me think that it was Kid Rock singing. Compared to the current state of his voice, Jon from 2010 seems like a vocal god.

That part at 2:00 kinda reminded me of that episode from Mr.Bean when he goes to church and keeps mumbling the lyrics untill he gets to the Hallelujah part. The funny part is that Richie doesn't even know the chorus of the song.

I haven't followed his work recently but I really hope he is doing better.
