I think you answered your own question!

I think releasing that show with Jon sounding that awful would've done the band no favors.

Which is why it was released, but not the whole show. Jons voice kept cracking during the night. Listen to Always for example.

Does anyone know when the interview that starts by 6.07 are from? Jon mentions some titles that will be on the upcoming album such as Only Lonely, Afraid of the Night, Danger Zone etc.
Is it from the break between the Japan 84 Tour and the Kiss Europe Tour or from the actual Kiss Tour?

I'm pretty sure I had transferred this tape many years ago and they were all labelled as being approximately from early '85. Since the Fahrenheit album was released in April 1985 and the KISS tour had ended in November of '84 I'd say this snippet is from somewhere inbetween, probably around December of 1984.

OK, thank you! I simply assumed it was from early autumn 84 as he described Tokyo Road being inspired from "a tour we've just come back from in Japan" and that Japan tour taking place in August 84. If the interview was from December 84 it doesn't add up saying that Tokyo Road was inspired by a "tour we've just come back from in Japan".
But in can simply be me putting to much weight on a sentence.
