Look at this set list from that gig. Id kill for anything like that now - The first 6 are so strong. No shit like the stuff from Lost Highway.

01. Rockin' In The Free World
02. Hey God [6:50]
03. Livin' On A Prayer [12:55]
04. You Give Love A Bad Name [19:05]
05. Keep The Faith [22:50]
06. Runaway [30:30]
07. With A Little Help From My Friends [35:40]
08. Lay Your Hands On Me [43:00]
09. I'll Sleep When I'm Dead ~ Papa Was A Rollin' Stone ~ Jumpin' Jack Flash [52:33]
10. Bad Medicine ~ Shout [1:08:50]

Encore #1:
11. I Believe [1:13:35]
12. Stranger In This Town (Richie on lead vocals) [1:21:00]
13. Rockin All Over The World [1:27:35]
14. Acoustic Solo / Wanted Dead Or Alive [1:34:25]
15. Someday I'll Be Saturday Night [1:43:25]

Encore #2:
15. This Ain't A Love Song [1:52:23]

The more albums theyve had more the set list has been diluted for the casual fan

This song was played as an introduction to Never Say Goodbye in Osaka 1987. Since in almost 3 decades no one had been able to decipher what the original song might've been, I started to think that it maybe was a demo of something he had written on the road and just wanted to try on the spot.

That's pretty much the same conclusion I've come to now. I'm sure someone would have recognised it if it was a cover.

I don't think it's a question of originality but a question of:

A. Is this the makings of an original song for a future album or perhaps a song that never made an album?

B. Is this something strictly written for an ongoing intro to NSG?

C. Or is this just a brilliant adlib by Jon with Richie just strumming along?

My choice has always been "A"... I think Jon and Richie recently penned some lyrics (it's got that similar style to Fighter For Love in Access) and wanted to see how it came across in a live setting... It was probably written within that very same day maybe even in the dressing room just prior to the show... But that's all just an absolute total guess...

I'd be inclined to say A as well, they were so prolific in that period that it seems the most likely.

I'd go for A as well, but I think it was just Jon strumming along to his own singing rather than Richie playing from the main stage.
