He really made smoking a part of his public shtick in 1997. Never before or after have we seen so many occasions him with a cigarette in public than in that era. Even the back cover of DA. What was the purpose of this? Was it the cool "mature" singer-songwriter image he was trying to create to move away from the youthful rockstar frontman?

New sound remaster from Fukuoka 2000!
One of my favourite performances of this song - Richie kicks into the outro solo with his electric guitar and the bluesy vibe is just awesome.

Bon Jovi - (It's Hard) Letting You Go (Fukuoka 2000) - YouTube
Excellent job!

When I first heard this performance a few years ago I thought it wasn't too great (about the same as 2010-2011 and much worse than 1996), but now after listening to this improved recording it's pretty comparable to '96. While Jon doesn't sing with the same passion as in '96, I actually prefer this mellow instrumental arrangement with Richie's guitar so prominent in the mix.

Thanks Denmad, that was a lot of fun to watch! Reminds me of how much cooler Jovi drum tracks could be nowadays. Any idea when this was filmed?
