Ah, those were the days! I'm glad I had the luck of seeing Jon in Hamburg in 1997 and then in 1998 on his arena tour again in Bremen. Great times!

Since Walleris had asked me for this, I tracked down the video of the band performing Something For The Pain in 2001:

You are forever one of my favourite posters here. THANK YOU.

EDIT: This must have been the last time Richie played it in Open E. It was switched to standard tuning on The Circle tour.

You sir never disappoint! Been waiting years to hear this performance and I finally did, thanks to you!

Speaking of performance itself, it's easy to believe that after this they didn't play this song for 9 years - Jon is struggling noticeably on chorus and it wasn't common for him to struggle like this in 2001 and probably not worth the hassle unless it was a for fan-favorite song, e.g. Always or Something To Believe In. It makes it even more remarkable how in 2010 he was able to sing it considerably better (at least from the perspective of hitting the higher notes).

Just to show how great they/Jon still were/was in 2003..."Those screams are unreal. The whole performance is unreal."

Stunning 8-minute version of In These Arms! Acapella intro and ad-libs over the outro!
I found an old (and poor sounding) radio broadcast, so we even have a SBD of that one!
