This showcases that if he is really into the song and performs it instead of just singing it than new stuff catches the audience as good as the old stuff does. But unfortunately there aren't too many "new" songs where he shows this passion.
And by saying that: The Circle/Greatest Hits tour was one hell of tour!!!
