It must have been the last time he was confident enough to move at all during the song... Philly 2013 was another one, but there he was clinging onto the mic stand all the time while walking:

PS. I've never seen Jon look as pained during any song as he does here. He literally looks like he's going to drop dead anytime. The way he bends his whole body to even touch the high notes on the choruses - yikes, double yikes, triple yikes - looks really unhealthy. There must be something terribly wrong with his singing technique.

EDIT: Another painful (literally) Always rendition was done in Los Angeles '17:

Poor guy... I honestly wonder if his head is going to explode someday while he's singing Always.

ANOTHER EDIT: Here's a better quality version of the performance you originally posted:

The way Jon belts out the "words don't RHYME" before Richie's outro solo legitimately sounds like the 90's all over again. I really still can't believe how he was first able to get back on such a high level in terms of his vocal quality and then basically lose it all within the following three years... the thing is, did his technique honestly take a noticeable (visible) turn to worse at some point? I can't really call myself a singing expert even though I've been singing privately/semi-privately for more than 15 years and have taken vocal lessons since late 2016, so an(y) explanation would be nice. Walleris or Gregsynthbootlegs, you know what to do!
