Let's put it like this: it strongly reminds me of my puberty and the vocal change caused by it.
Poor Jonny... he looks genuinely pissed off/disappointed after that part. You can't really see his facial expressions, but he's obviously not very happy. Pretty much every time he hangs his head down like that, he also gives himself the stink eye. See here:

The way he keeps hanging his head down during the choruses and the faces he keeps making throughout the song say everything you need to know. He's completely aware of the fact that he sounds like shit these days (ba-dum tssh!). He does care, and it shows. I'm pretty sure that not even Seb hates Jon's current voice as much as Jon himself does.
Btw, I think all the comments Jon has recently made about his voice (e.g. "I'm in a really good vocal shape nowadays...") are based on his own will to convince himself that he can still sing, although it's more than obvious that he knows he can't. He's clearly feeling really bad about it. Not that he's ever going to admit it, though...
