You've got too much time on your hands
|
Let's see. I've been using this site as a Jovi news source for... two years or more. Let's compare how much time I have on my hands vs you.
Thierry's Post Count - 3457
My Post Count - 2
Yeah, whatever you say chuckles. I don't know why I'm bothering with the guy who thinks that for TLFR they turned every song into a ballad (you do know the meaning of the word is not "any song with a slow tempo and/or no solo in it" right?), but eh, I'm in the mood. How about answering some of my points instead of sticking your head in the sand with an abortion of a flame even a child could see is completely groundless and stupid?

Who exactly are you addressing from your high & mighty platform up there in the clouds!????
|
I'm high and mighty??? AHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! ****, have you read some of the drek in this forum? Have you read the first post in this thread? I've got no problem with most of the people on the forum, but there's a dozen or so, Captain Can't-Do-Math here including, who pass judgement on Jon based on media comments and interviews, and anal retentive analysis of his every action. I've held my tongue countless times as I read a bit of information someone was kind enough to post that some jackass twisted and used to take another snipe at Jon or the band in general, but this post was just... surreal. Honest to God, what the hell did the guy ever do to you warrant this kind of abuse? Why do you rag on him so much?

The only problem I saw was that he thinks that he is the only one right.

Thanks for the backup. No, I don't think I'm right. Unlike some of these guys, I'm not that arrogant, just extremely aggressive and bad tempered, especially when someone I respect and admire is the victim of such ridiculous allegations. There is a difference
Jon could be a closet Satanist for all we know

Stick to facts guys. From my perspective, this what they are - I feel like I could buy 100 of each album and never feel like I've paid Jon and the boys enough for all the bad times their music has made good. There are some things in life you cannot repay with money... or indeed anything at all. The way I feel I get when I listen to one of the band's many wonderful uplifting songs - be it the Distance or Saturday Night, Sleep When I'm Dead or It's My Life - is one of them. How could a money hungry arrogant asshole who doesn't care about his fans create and perform songs like that with such passion, songs that can make me feel like the war that life often is, is worth fighting? It doesn't fit to me. This is not conclusive proof, of course. Like I said, I don't know him. He could be the asshole some people make him out to be, but they don't know him either.
Look at the way Richie is holding his arm in that shot. He could just as easily be waving away the crowd away while saying "We're exhausted. **** off and go home." I wouldn't put it past someone in the entertainment media to attach a caption like that to that pic. I've seen things like it happen, and worse. Most of the magazine buying public wants dirt on stars, so far too many reporters will twist and distort things to make them look bad. I don't trust them anymore and I never will. I don't believe it unless I hear it from the star's mouth.
So, my challenge to the Jon Haters is simple. Where is your proof? These photos are NOT proof. One interpretation is just as valid as the other. As I pointed out, Jon often draws attention to Richie when it's his time to shine, and I based my conclusion on this evidence. BJEveryday, who was there, and others, agree. What evidence do they have for their conclusion? None I can see. Feel free to correct me, I will listen.
Jon Bon Jovi is a human being, and based on what little I know of him and what his life's work has done for me, I think a pretty damned good one. I sincerely hope that someday, somehow I'll get the chance to shake his hand, buy him a beer and say thanks. But shy of a meeting in that great bar in the sky, that's obviously not gonna happen.
He's human, and humans have failings. We've all done bad and stupid things. Some of us regret them, some don't. Don't let the failings make you lose sight of the big picture, of the real person. He's been doing this for most of his life. You'd be pretty damned exhausted after doing 2 - 3 hour shows every night too. You can't expect him to give 100% all the time, sign every autograph, talk to every person without sounding distracted or half-hearted, not talk to every interviewer in a manner that clearly suggests he wished they'd **** off so he could have a smoke and a little peace.
Two things he said during the 1989 Milton Keynes concert I thought were pretty arrogant, but it's something I've yet to see repeated in fifteen years, every official concert releases, half a dozen bootleg videos and 1.73GB of bootleg MP3s. Big deal. The band had massive success. Most people would've gotten a hell of a lot more big headed than he did. It doesn't diminish what he's done.
