Hi Bonnie,

Welcome to the board. I do like HAND in general but not as much as their old albums SWW, NJ, TD . But everytime I hear HAND I like it even more, its definately better than Bounce in my opinion.

Dawn

i think you are right about slagging of a artist , his music is good his lyrics to his songs are real and they are happening in my life some of them from a very cold london town

I think someone in their description of a real fan said that we defend them when people slag them off. I do find myself doing that, it's kind of like your little brother, you may beat him up and call him a prick but when someone else does it you'll defend him to the hilt. It's the same with Bon Jovi when non fans call them chick rock and faggot rock etc you defend them. It's nice then to come on here with fans and actually sound off about various things like the following:
Why are there no decent solos anymore ?
How come all their new songs are under 4 minutes long (I know not ALL of them are)
How come so many co-writers?
Why are there 2 new members in the live band?
etc, etc.

It doesn't mean we're not fans just that we have an independent opinion and don't just love everything with Bon Jovi's name on it.

That's right.
In the last few months I've been thinking a lot about the meaning of being a fan (real or not). it's ok to discuss and even to critic the band, as long as the critic is based on a knowledge-which I think almost everyone here has. But in my opinion, the essential thing about being a fan is passion. Sometimes I'm afraid I'm not totally objective when it's up to Bon Jovi, especially about the new releases....I'm always so excited that I can't really be rational!! but you know what?? I don't care. I keep on loving it, objective or not. I like it, I like it, I like it. It's just passion for me

Well, I was listening to HAND earlier and was thinking that with the exception of Wild Flower, in a way I like this album better than I liked Bounce or Crush, not that those weren't good, there were good songs on them, it's just, I don't know, I guess I can feel the songs on this one a little deeper, like I can relate to them a little better. Altho I can relate to Bounce, the song in the way that it got me through part of a rough senior year of highschool when my best friend was away for a long period of time and I couldn't be with her, then there were other factors too, the song itself just made me feel alot better. But there are more tracks on HAND that I can really relate too. And while it's not like the old stuff, let's face it, everything after These Days is just different but that doesn't mean it's not still great.

It doesn't matter what they release...there will be always people that will say "That's a great album" or "That's a big piece of sh#$!"

IMO, HAND is the best "2000 ERA" album , i mean, Crush and Bounce are good, but HAND have songs that reminded me of the old days..that Hard Rock vibe!!! How come a BJ fan don't like Story of My Life!!??
It's also the kind of album that I can keep playing on my stereo non stop, no bad track to skip, although there are a couple of songs that I don't like very much!! It's a good album!!
Compared to what have been released lately on the media, I can say that this album is WONDERFUL!!!

You're right girl!!!
This is a quote from Jon that i love to use:"Albums are not better or worste...they're just different!"
I love BJ more than everything for a lot of reasons;they're a big part of my life, they're my passion.
And yes, basically i love everything they say or do...but i have opinions about things and i am able to say "no,this is wrong, that's a mistake" and i'm not afraid to say it,when it takes.
But usually i thank the sky everyday for every album, every single, every video, every dvd, every tour and every song that they release...I like to think that they do all these for US,because they could even decide to retire with all the money they already have, but they didn't do it...so far.
We can talk and discuss about our personal feelings, ideas, emotions about the band, and songs and all the other stuff...but i don't like hearing some fans saying "this album sucks!",that's not fair,it's an art form,it's the work of a lot of people and you can't stay there sitting on your couch, listening to it 1 time and then go with things like that;you can say that you don't like it or that you prefered something else, but please HAVE RESPECT.
