Ok Dawn this is for you.
The band started off the show with IML with Jon walking in from off to the side of the stage somewhere, It sounded very good Jon's vocals were in good shape that day. They did the shortened tv version of Bad Name, then Jon went and said hello to Oprah.
The first interview segment was about Jon being a rock star, and everyone telling Oprah for two weeks before they taped the show how much she was going to love Jon because he was such a nice guy. Oprah told a story about her friend Gayle who said eighteen years ago when she was a tv anchor in Conn. that Jon was very sweet to her. He thanked her for her kindness and said there were alot of reporters he wasn't nice to.
They talkeda bit about what it feels like to be onstage and have a sea of people singing your songs to you and Oprah getting Jon to admit that he seduces his audiences. Jon tells a story about that first RS cover and how all the girl wanted to talk to him about was his good looks and his hair and how upset he was that she didn't want to talk about the music and songs he and Richie had worked so hard to learn to write. He says now looking back it was fun, it was cute, admitted that it used to offend him to be thought of as just a pretty face, but says time and success has proven out that the songs were always at the base of his and the bands success.

Jon tells a funny story about the movie directors nanny that has what Jon describes as a very good rendition of his face tattooed on her right butt cheek and how she showe it to him in a dressing room in Utah before a show.

Oprah asked what the fan meansto him? He said that they are an intregal part of everything the band does, because of them he gets to keep doing what he does but that he never makes decisions based on a fanbase, if he has a message that fans relate to then evryone comes along for the ride but he makes decisions on whats best for him and the band etc... saya music is what he does and it's wonderful but that it isn't who he is, there is alot more to him and his life than just the music. the rest of the segment is a short tour of Santuary and Jon making fun of the fact that the lyrics we hear on a record are sung over the kitchen sink in the studio's kitchen with the bass amp hooked up in the bathroom.

The next segment was a video of Jon in Philadelphia, at his and his teams favorite restaurant Chickie and Petes where he says "crab fries are pure love"

Then he talks a bit about Dorothea and the kids, about driving them to the first day of school the day before taping and being proud of his three year old who didn't cry when he went to school for the first time. He teels a cute story about Jake the three yr old liking the helicopter in the HAND video and how he'll screw his face all up and sing the have a nice day chorus with all sorts of attitude and emotion.

The next part is about the charitable work side of Jon's life shows a video of Jon going to Northern Home for Children In Philadelphia and bringing all the kids there school uniforms and new wardrobes, backpacks and school supplies and a computer for each child and him talking about that giving back is now the motovation for keeping working and his mission is to make giving back a hip thing to do.

Then they saguay into Jon making a million dollar donation from the BAND to Oprahs Angel network Honestly Dawn anyone who watched this part and listened at all to Jon would know that this has nothing to do with promoting a record and everything to do with putting their money behind their words. "GIVING IS HIP." They did a very good and generous thing here and alot of people will benifit from it. Jon wasn't trying to sell more records during this segment he was simply doing what he thought was right.

The next segment was Jon surprising a fan in NJ by showing up as the [pizza delivery guy at the family pizza night with two dozen roses and pizza. The reaction he got was very funny and pretty sweet.
Jon then gave the audience all tickets to the Chicago tour show and the band played HAND, very well in this performance I might add.

Oprah talked to the other guys for a couple of minutes Richie explained the bands staying together all these years as a marriage, they made a commitment and they have kept it and what good friends they all are.
That was pretty much it, sorry I'm not the best at describing stuff but it should give you an idea about the show. Enjoy.
