I understand the Hugh situation more now and am actually glad Hugh wasn't made ''official'' and Alec was never 'replaced' as such (boom boom tish). And its true, Alec has never written a tell all book about the inner workings of The Band, or spoken to the media etc for a quick buck.

Interesting..any idea roughly what he said? Might have just been a bit of venting, hell, even David had a bit of a go at JBJ on the WWWB documentary didnt he? And didn't Alec joing The Band onstage at Giants a few yours back for Wanted? Seem's they have buried the hatchet ( either that or Jon and his lawyers have scared him into silence LOL)

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

yeah quite possible ha!.....think it was just some venting - he was calling jon a 'big lib' etc and just had a very negative tone - it is on youtube, do not ask me where though

just finished watching the programme and thats the best ive seen him for a long time, its clear that he believes in the message of his songs, its just a shame that as die hard fans we have heard it for a long time now.

As for the we wernt born to follow comment, was it really such a big hit? i know in the uk it spent a couple of weeks in the charts but nothing groundbreaking. It also appeared to me that he didnt seem that bothered about chart success anymore and that if a song is successful its now a bonus more than anything

Anyone else see this or just me?

Thought it was a nice one. Quite centred and not as egomanic as he used to when talking about his leadership abilities. Also liked it when he said he should start every sentence with: "on my planet..." . He always believed in what he was doing and always said he is kind of an optimist/idealist. which in my book is totally fine to some extent. Also, he does seem to be a bit humbled which is always a nice character trait.I totally agree when he said that
ignorance and fear leads to an kind of arrogance which at a certain level keeps people apart. (I'm just thinking of some discussions here where people became really rude and disrespectful)

Yes sure, he mixes these propaganda phrases ("the power of we"...") with his music which I really can't stand most of the time and exaggerated a bit when talking about the power of music and the interdependence of music, books and movies but I don't need to agree with everything he says. He is not doing any harm by - for instance - insulting other people. So live and let live.

Fantastic interview. A very honest and inspiring one. I’ve watched it 3 times so far and can’t get enough. Yeah sure, most of the stories we’ve heard before, but those are not the reason it was so good. When I look at Jon as a person, everything fits together. He really thinks like that, he believes in it, he writes about it, he sings about it and encourage people all around the world to be a better person and to set themselves new goals, with the bar set really high. And he’s the living proof this kind of attitude works. It’s not some made up story, it really happened for him. We admire him, but nothing stops us to be as successful as he or any other person we admire is. There are so many great wisdom lines to learn from in this monolog, enough positive energy for anyone there. It’s so great to have a chance to stand on the line of that energy and get some part of it for yourself and thrive on it. That’s the reason why I love BJ, and again it worked.

Have watched this interview many many times since it aired 4 years ago. Always thought that he came across quite honest there and some of the things he says I find really motivating.
