I donīt think it even exist. I think Iīve read somewhere that they were planning to record a new version of Runaway for Cross Road, but then decided to do Prayer ī94 instead.

Why would they write an unofficial biography of Bon Jovi? They can say whatever they want, it's their book. It doesn't matter if it's the truth or not. If there was a studio version of Runaway with the band, don't you think we would've heard it? With all the bootlegs from the Slippery and NJ sessions and the Power Station demos etc? Not likely. It doesn't exist, that's why no one's heard it.

well theyd write one to sell and make money...

i take your point, and agree that it most likely doesnt exist...but they can write whatever they want, there's no need for them to start making stuff up -so why would they?

Wall and Dome have written quite extensively in the music press also.

I think I remember getting some demo tracks from the first album, and there was a version of Runaway, but I couldn't really hear any difference to the album version. The only other version I know of is the instrumental one which someone already mentioned.

I think many of us have the instrumental version.

Like I said, if there was alternate version, I'm sure it would've surfaced already.
