I don't think I'm overanalysing when I say (or think) that I don't love Bon Jovi's post-2000 music. I'm not one to analyse music at all; I like what I like and dislike what I dislike and don't spend time pondering about it.

Someone mentioned that it was good Bon Jovi still had the passion to be around but for me that's what's lacking these days: passion. I miss that passion and that strength they used to have. Maybe I miss their youth and if that's the case I'm well ****ed and so are many of us here. They reached a safe place and don't seem interested in stretching their legs much more. But should we settle? If you do like the new music then by all means do so. Love it and embrace it and I'm happy for you. Truly. <--- see the smilie? But for me personally the new songs don't fill me up. They leave a gap. a gap of "Hmmm. This is it?"

This has been my favourite band since I was 11 (1992) but the new albums haven't stood the test of time. I listen to them a dozen of times when they're out and then... oblivion. But it's still my favourite band for all they've given me in the past.

And I'll buy the albums anyway. I'm that weak. lol

Basically Iceman's post should have ended this thread. But I'll throw in my two cents...

This argument reminds me sort of what some Republicans did here in the states during the Bush Administration. Basically it was, "Listen, don't be unpatriotric (there's a butchering of a word, eh?) and don't try to actually discern how our country is ruining the world, just be a good American and support your country!" The argument there, as it is with many things in America, is that somehow thinking logically is wrong.

Of course, that's stupid. And so is this moronic idea you shouldn't analyze art and compare it to previous efforts the artist has done, just because you're a fan of the artist.

On a side note, the kinds of entertainment I enjoy are things that I can analyze over and over to find new qualities I missed. One reason I vehemently dislike the new song so much is that there's absolutely nothing to analyze or breakdown. It's as banal as you can get in terms of creativity.

I was pretty straight forward when I said that I loved the new single, but I'm also not stupid, I can see and understand why fans are not impressed with it and even not like it. For me it was a song that I feel like I needed to hear, but I never said it was musical genious or even original. I don't remember anyone being a dick or a bitch to me just because I loved the song, but maybe that's because I wasn't a dick to them and also respected their right to NOT like whatever it is about the band they choose.....

Lucky for us Bon Jovi are not having plastic surgery on their music and they are fine with letting their music evolve.

10 points for completely missing the point.

If you're happy with bad sex and a mediocre life, go for it. I won't.

You might consider a divorce from Bon Jovi, cause i believe that your marriage is based on the past but hasn't got much future. Isn't it time for you and Bon Jovi to go your own seperate ways?
Why should I? I love the band, I just don't like what their doing now.

And, no matter what YOU might think, I have the right to say it here. And as many times and in as many ways I feel I have to.

You keep saying that we shouldn't say what we think and we should go somewhere else. Well, Mr. High-and-mighty-I've-got-almost-50-posts, did it ever occur to you that we were here before you (and will be here after you're gone) and we've made the board. This wouldn't exist without us who've hung around since 1995. We won't be going anywhere. If you have a problem with the freedom of speech here, I suggest you go to BSWJBJ. There only positive posts are allowed. Doesn't that suit your "positive" vibe much better than this horrible place?

As long as I get half of what they have.

I am on BWJBJ
And I'm here since the day i got on the net
If tomorrow a new kid of 15 comes on this board cause he heard the new song and gets interested in this band, then he's no less of a fan than you are just because he's not around here since 1995 or because he hasn't got a million posts on the board.

This is my final word on this, now you can post your comment on this one since you are always having the final word in every discussion ... so i promise i won't repeat on that one again in this topic.

What the hell, it does make him less of a fan than the rest of us!

What a silly thing to say Elvis.

And in the same way, no one is any less of a fan just because they don't like the new song
