I love talking about my favorite music and Bon Jovi is one of my favorite bands. As far as the new cd...I'm looking forward to hearing what new and creative music they have come up with.

What's the deal with the posts, people? Do the fans have to prove themselves by having a large number of posts? I thought it was all about quality, not quantity ))

Thank you. That was exactly the point.

Post count in itself is no measurement. But it shows that some of us have been here a lot longer than others. And for someone with 50 posts to come and tell someone with thousands of posts (I've no idea how many posts I have...) to go away because he doesn't like what they're saying is just stupid.

Can I share? I wouldn't mind half of what they have either - hell, I'll settle for a quarter of it

I know the band is capable of much better, why should I settle for something less?

If you're happy with what their doing now, fine. I'm not. And I'm allowed to voice my opinion, just like you are. Don't come here telling others they should "shove off" or shut up or whatever. If you don't like what you see here, you're free to go somewhere else. I, and many other "old" fans won't settle for just "ok" stuff. We've lived the time when Bon Jovi produced quality albums one after the other. Why shouldn't we expect the same now?

It's like saying the sex was once great, now it's almost ok, but you shouldn't expect anything more after 5/10/15 years. That's not the way it goes.

Ice
Yeah, making music and sex... why didn't I see the instant connection?

Poor effort. FYI, I've been coming here for years, but the negativity of the place is catching, and continuing the music/sex simile you're so good at... I've caught enough.

Granted, a lot of newbies fall for stating things better left unsaid and get jumped on for it. But the fact that it happens time and again in the same manner cannot be the newbies fault only. It rather shows that the inglourious bunch of this board is unable of any self-reflection or self-criticism to get this in their heads. That's what I've been arguing for years.

The simple fact is that the band have become lazy in offering sub standard work compared to the high standards previously set.

We have the right to say what we think because I am sure all of us here have invested/given lots of money to the music machine that is BJ.

Once I heard passion and raw emotion in the lyrics, there were well writen and well structured songs. It seems now the albums are just churned out, I mean how long has it really taken to write, record and mix this latest offering?

We are a thickle fanbase but nothing wrong with that. I am sure if AC/DC or Motley Crue had decided to release a country album it would have raised a few eyebrows amoungst their fanbases.

Bon Jovi just seem to make the wrong decision in the eyes of the hardcore fan. All I want is a passionate rock album with meaningful lyrics, is this really too much to ask?

The problem is that I have wanted that album for the last 10 years and they have not quite delivered it. Some songs they have recorded have been great but not one album since These Days has had that quality from start to finish.

I am sad to say that I cannot see The Circle being anything other than an average album.

This paragraph made me think actually. Ever since 2000, it's seemed like they haven't actually wanted to make an album most of the time ... Jon originally wanted to do another solo album and instead Crush happened, Richie wanted to put out a solo Best Of (as per the Crush Tour DVD) and One Wild Night and then Bounce happened instead, again Richie wanted to put out a solo album but then HAND happened, and Lost Highway just seemed a bit of a mess, with them first wanting to do a Greatest Hits, then saying that LH wasn't an actual Bon Jovi album but just a side project, then deciding it was a proper BJ album. And now they're trying to do about a million things at once, which seems to have resulted in a long delayed DVD and Greatest Hits.

I really do think that after this they should just slow down and take a couple of years off from the band. Do some solo work, and come back when they are all onboard for a new album
