Totally different times but reminds as a scenario of Metallica and Jason Newsted..when Hetfield didnt allow Jason to have a side project band...looked like a dick move back then but there is logic behind it, because in these dinosaur bands you must be 100% there, present and available to the organization. just mentioned for the sake of argument, probably nth is gonna happen, but its nice to have some h0pe...

Wouldn't be the best restart though if Jon cut it on Richie's solo plans again

that would be surreal... the drills was his old band, but if phil x goes around and becomes official member in different bands it speaks volumes imo.
both sides have their right, but jon should choose different, he doesnt believe in phil and he pays the price for saying Richie could be replaced...Richie will never be replaced in Bj..

Members of Bon Jovi have always done things outside the band, why should it be any different now. I don't get all the talk surrounding this. Phil playing with another band is no different to Richie doing his solo albums. The band have no tour dates booked and I expect Jon and Shanks will do most of the album without Phil and bring him in for a couple of days to do his parts when they are ready. What's he supposed to do in the meantime? Why not get out and play and make some extra money. I can't see why Jon would ever have a problem with that.

Richie will never be replaced, Phil X doesn't feel 100% Phil X in the band; obviously the 3 girls with violins are the new official members.
