Yeah probs, but it was just as my phone during that time and seemed out of place.
It caused me to jump off a few times before realizing it was that

I just had a listen and I hear what you mean, that is a sound I noticed before, but as DevilsSon said it sounds like a keyboard as opposed to anything like a phone

Yes but you said you have the remastered one, and it surely sounds different (less phone-like) on that copy

Well I have heard that before, it can't be much different. According to the booklet all that happened was they got a 20-bit mastering in 1998. Presumably they will do them all again at some point - they did Slippery When Wet already, it is on the dualdisc in 96khz/24-bit.

I always thought it sounded like a phone too.

Has been discussed before on this board, I know my mind is not playing tricks on me

Though of course is arugable its a actual phone or Dave's keyboard making a (inappropate) sound

It almost sounds like a percussion something to me, unless I have a misunderstanding of what we're referring to here I don't hear it---I guess!!

I stripped out some of the guitar part and enhanced that noise a little

12 second clip (mp3)

(hopefully that will be OK as it isn't exactly file-sharing since it's a 12 second, edited clip)
