In my opinion, all the ballads after These Days have sucked. TAALS and Lie To Me, although not as good as the older ones, are not bad songs.
I think the fact that the newer ballads aren't as good has a lot to do with those "string arrangements" they've been using since Crush. The older ballads were more like slower rock songs but lately they're just crap pop songs.

also lack of any real guitar work from richie...

the guitar solo to i'll be there for you or livin in sin are amongst his best

I LOVE THANK YOU FOR LOVING ME. IT IS MY SOON TO BE WEDDING SONG. BESIDES THAT ONE, THE ONLY OTHER BALLAD THAT I HAVE REALLY LIKED SINCE CROSSROADS IS LIE TO ME.
