I never said they are bad. In fact I said it is very good….but for a performance by amateurs. I also think there are few things that you can like in it although I could point out more that I personally don’t like at all. Of course their version misses drums and keyboards in the first place, that’s why it can’t be compared to the original. I can hear that they had lots of fun doing it and that’s great. That’s what music should be all about. It’s also good that they hanged out together, trying to make a song on their own so it would sound they way they will finally enjoy it. And technicaly the song is good.
The thing is the subject of this thread suggests me that Seb (and probably Iceman too) really thinks that he can do better than BJ or what’s even worse that he already is better than BJ. And Ang1e has pointed something I also wanted to say. To compare yourself with such a legend and try to prove that you are better, you should give us something you have written on your own. Not a cover. Everybody can make a cover, better or worse. Maybe there was a thread over here before where Seb presented some of his own stuff, was it? I’d be glad to hear it. But even if there was, and even if it was good, still he would have to write songs for at least 10 albums (so roughly about 120 songs) so we could say who is better.
I understand your point, really. I repeat – their version is good. But I think that’s Seb’s intention is really to prove us that he really is better than BJ. If the subject is ironic, that’s fine. But if Seb’s serious than he is very self-righteous in my opinion. Seb, please correct me if I interpret this wrong.
