anyone who thinks oasis shouldn't be on that list is kidding themselves on. wether you like them or not, they've a bigger right to be there than some of the bands on it.

I can;t stand nirvana but they should still be on there too

the bee gee's have consistently wrote good if somewhat cheesy tunes for 3 decades which cant be discounted either.

Changed the music industry?
Oasis were the icons of Britpop. Nirvana were the icons of grunge. Bon Jovi aren't the icons of hairmetal, Bon Jovi are just a rockband.

I don't know why people get upset over the genre a band/song/album is in. You should like music for what it is to you and not what genre it is placed in. It is just a category or label and doesn't really mean anything.
Bon Jovi did help define the 80s and the whole hair band thing with the image and music style, so they are influential in those respects. Don't get me wrong, Nirvana was good and did make an impact on the music scene, but they are way overrrated. They often get more respect and acknowledgment than bands that also made a big impact and who are actually still around and successful today. Sad to say, but I think some of that is due to Cobain's death. That's just my opinion anyways.

I think this is bascially done on how big a fan base and the popularity of the bands. It's good to see Bon Jovi are high up there and great to see that Dire Straits are at 6. They were a big band all over the world in the 80s, but I woulda thought that Bon Jovi were bigger.

Boston had the biggest album of any one hit wonder. I know, I know. It surprised me too. I'd like to thank the good people at Much More Music for telling me that.
